No Turn Left
By Indi Riverflow | March 2, 2012
Cool my jets and heat my heels
Hardly holding out against the tilt
Racing inside this maze they built
Seems I spend half my days
Shuffling out of the heat’s heavy way
Skulking along walls of graffiti spray
Dodging bears and their demands to obey
Trying to take my space away
Trying to take my space away
{Chorus}
Got to nose me out my comfy spot
Not too cold and not too hot
Not too loud and not on guard
Not too soft and not too hard
We all have our priorities
Some pray to smite their enemies
Prize the peace of illusory
Sentries screaming for security
Willing to drop a dime on destiny
Some favor fantasies of being free
Some just tend their own family tree
Striving to shape the soil they’ll see
Or send a message unto eternity
{Bridge}
Don’t you fret about spatial uncertainty
World is round, so we’re bound
To get there eventually
The map only reflects the landscape
The planet is hidden in a pocket of escape
Poking holes in seas of aether
The mountain carving out the thinnest of air
Lakes wherever land is failing to be there
{Chorus}
We always think we’re covering ground
When all we’re doing is getting around
Home is wherever the wheels are still
Where you hide from the heat and brave the chill
Dangers lay behind curves and bends
Doubles in city lights as darkness descends
Key is to stay informed between the lines
While doing what you can to make good time
{Chorus}
Some favor fantasies of being free
Some just tend their own family tree
Striving to shape the soil they’ll see
Or send a message unto eternity
