Lattice of Errors

By Indi Riverflow | February 19, 2013

The first thing I ever learned about plans
Is that you’d better factor in the glitch
Expeditions hanging on human hands
Rarely return without a hitch

Two wrongs don’t make a right
But sometimes three lefts do
Survival has struck again despite
Every rift I slipped clear through

{Chorus}
Sometimes you’ve got to let go and fall free
Land in the net of serendipity
I’ve seen mountaineers crumble in terror
Afraid to gamble all on a guess
I’ll just climb my lattice of errors
And make an impeccable mess

Navigating shaky terrain and tricky gaps
Takes special tools and luck of the Fool
Making magic out of mishaps
When the tether snaps on the end of the spool

You never can know what fate you missed
Imps at your heels and keeping you late
Spin you around with a synchronous twist
Away from whatever was due on that date

So take it with a grain of philosophy
If you’ve grooved yourself hard into a ditch
You paid for the lesson in catastrophe
Value hard knocks and you’ll always be rich

{Chorus}
