The Pattern
By Indi Riverflow | November 13, 2014
When you set out to tread the Pattern
Past and future fuse
Upswings and downturns
Follow the frequency of clues
You’ll remember more than you ever forgot
And relearn more you might ever be taught
{Chorus}
Like walking through a brick wall
Once you start you’d better not stall
Gonna get there if I have to crawl
All those barriers and obstacles
They were the path after all
When you build momentum
Opposites grow exact
Whirling around fulcrums
Made of what the other lacked
Rising and falling in alternate slots
Drawing definition from all you are not
When the walker and Pattern merge
And millennia melt
An animal of pure survival urge
Where the spark of life itself
Seeks the void and ultimate relief
From the terminal grind of outlining motifs
Each step casts emanations
Resonating throughout the planes
Spawning unknown imitations
Who pump water through their veins
It’s a myriad mirror applying Order
To the Chaotic madness at the heart of Amber
{Chorus}
And if you run into my shadow
You’ll know I went the other way
In a direction none may follow
Where ten years pass here in but a day
By the horn of the Unicorn shall verity ring
Rhythm-driven Random was always the King
