Cassandra’s Complex
By Indi Riverflow | February 21, 2013
Perfectly perched to run the whole scene
They had fingers in every pie that came by
Yet managed to keep their hands clean
But after a while the service and smiles
Slowly declined while business boomed
The stacks and sacks were stacked in piles
Too high to see that danger loomed
{Chorus}
It’s a Trojan horse of course of course
‘Cause traps are always too good to be true
It always goes south on a careless mouth
And a greedy soul wanting more than is due
Cassandra woke one day bathed in sweat
Tripping over her words in fright
For she had a vision of a closing net
Sweeping her complex in the night
In vain she tried to explain
How all this gold was doomed
None of them wanted to hear her complain
As the tape rolled on in the next room
{Chorus}
You never feel like thinking twice
When they offer you twice the price
But you really ought to have second thoughts
About Greeks bearing gifts
And how Troy got caught
You ain’t got to be no prophet
To see the wiring in the walls
Just take a look at the history books
The big ballers always fall
{Chorus}
