Queen of Strings

By Indi Riverflow | March 30, 2012

There isn’t a thing she can’t do with string
On a mission to tie the world up in a ring
White lotus petals along trails she treads
Catches moonbeams in a bindi crystal
Held to her head by the thinnest of threads

Candle cupped in either palm
Slipping past the storm to any pocket of calm
Darting toward destiny an unguided missile
As if she’s heeding a call from a silent whistle

{Chorus}
We’re starring a show that’s all our own
Stepping stones on a path we’ve always known
We’re bound to the sound and dance as one
Or else we’ll bear our bruises alone

Filling in the blanks where my vision goes blind
Drawn to dawn dropping scattered lines
We shine starlight on the other’s shade
Dreaming in lockstep when the music fades
What a parade of miracles we’ve made
What wonders we work and find
What powers are mysteriously mined
When our minds are combined
All angles aligned

Along mermaid avenues navigating aether
Matter inverter
Symbiotic satirist
In
Out
Neither

Existential experimentalist
Chaos casting a net around mist
I ching the yang and she brings the yin
Clutch to my pin and partner in sin

{Chorus}

When the river flows off course
Raging with waves of force
She guides the stream back to source
When my head’s in the clouds
Tangled up in veils and shrouds
Her finger slides the wrinkle from the crease
Breathing peace relief and sweet release

{Chorus}
